The Kuhmo Nectar Conference and Summer School 2012 is being held under the patronage of the governing major of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit, and is organised by DIW Berlin and Technical University of Berlin. The 2012 session will be the seventh in a sequence that started in Kuhmo, Finland in 2006, followed by Urbino in 2007, Amsterdam in 2008, Copenhagen in 2009, Valencia in 2010, and Stockholm in 2011 (for further information see “Previous conferences” section of this page).
The aim of the conference, June 21-22, is to promote scientific excellence in the field of transport economics and to provide a forum for stimulating scientific exchange. Specific topics of interest include, but are not limited to, transport investment and funding, congestion pricing, time and risk, agglomeration effects, valuation of intangibles, transport safety, aviation, competition, privatization, etc.
Prior to the conference, the Kuhmo Nectar Summer School will take place on June 18-20. It offers a high-quality program targeted primarily at PhD students and researchers looking for a compact introduction to recent advances in academic research in transport economics. The conference and the Summer School share the same main themes. Delegates are free to attend either the Summer School or the conference, or both.
