Welcome to the homepage of Northern Optics 2012, 19th-21st of November 2012 in Denmark. The venue this time is the beautiful surroundings of Conference Centre Comwell Borupgaard situated close to the former fishing village of Snekkersten by Øresund in Denmark. The purpose of the meeting will be to stimulate the network of the scientist working in the field of optics in the Nordic and Baltic countries. The conference is sponsored by the Danish Optical Society (DOPS) in collaboration with the optical societies of Sweden, Finland and Lativa as well as the physical societies of Norway, Estonia and Lithuania. The organising committee kindly urge the scientists in these countries to take advantage of this unique opportunity to meet and exchange knowledge under informal conditions. The conference will also include an exhibition by leading manufacturers and suppliers in the field of lasers, optical components and systems. Due to the informal nature of the meeting, the participants are more than welcome to bring table-top demonstrations of their scientific work to the conference. Participants who wish to do so, are kindly requested to inform the local organising committee a month before the conference commences.
